| Mouth cancer can affect any part of the
mouth including the tongue, lips and throat. Sadly, the mortality
rate from mouth cancer is just over 50%, higher than the mortality
rate from breast cancer, cervical cancer or skin melanoma.
This is because many cases are detected too late for treatment
to work.
We check all our patients for early signs of mouth cancer,
as a part of your routine dental check up, so be sure to make
sure you visit us at least every six months! The earlier any
signs of mouth cancer are detected the higher your chances
of making a full recovery.
If you have any concerns, please feel free to talk to your
dentist or a member of our practice team.
